HEED THE CALL OF THE CLARION!
Move over Christopher Columbus ... Roadie the Gnome has discovered Cameron, Oklahoma!
It took over two weeks (and a Gnome) for the Poteau Daily News to discover the rather imposing 625 sq. ft. lighted sign on Highway 112 in Cameron. May I suggest they dump the Gnome borrowed from Travelocity, and adopt Rip Van Winkle for a mascot?
Roadie, is supposed to be out looking for pot holes (a really difficult task in LeFlore County) when he discovered the rumors from more Western Counties are true, there really is more than one political party. To quote Roadie's reaction to the sign: "HMMMMM YOU DECIDE!". You know what Roadie? I'm glad to hear you say that. In fact that's a Constitutionally good idea. Yes, people please "decide", as in make an effort to think about the kind of government you are condoning before you vote. Le Flore County and "Little Dixie" citizens, look around you. If one-party, "lock step" voting is such a great idea, why are there so many pot holes, poverty and blight in this area? Why for decades now are there no jobs, a continual welfare dependent community with some of the worst roads this side of Bangladesh?
Ask yourself why the only thing really flourishing around here is government? Taxpayer-supported schools and college buildings, court houses, jails, hundreds of government vehicles, innumerable furnishings and equipment paid for by your taxes, fees and fines. Yet Le Flore County has scant

new private businesses, and resulting jobs. We have the usual service related stuff, fast food and various low-skill, low-pay jobs. But we have almost no high skill work, or good compensation manufacturing. Which reminds me, whatever happened to the much ballyhooed arrival of Tiger Truck ...? Add to this depressing scene expensive food, fuel, water -- indeed -- all utilities and life's necessities in a never-ending upward spiral.
Blind one-party voting is what gave us the pernicious Obama administration and an arrogant Congress, under whose heel we currently live. Every day I wonder what the next onerous bill will be hatched from the tax-and-spend Progressives who now run this country. Well, Roadie, there are some good conservative Republicans running for office here in Little Dixie, who still believe in the Constitution.
As for the local paper, the Poteau Daily News, I don't know who they are taking orders from. But as for Roadie, if they keep him around perhaps they need to change his name to "Toadie". Because the Poteau Daily News has been a willing partner of entrenched Democrat politicians in LeFlore County, as long as anyone can remember.
Toadie would have no trouble finding Brannon, Corn, and Boren election year propaganda within the pages of the Poteau Daily News. Hardly an issue slides off the press, without these and any other Democrat politicians enjoying "Guest Commentary" status, or other fluffy public relations articles and photo opportunities.
Folks, we've all had guests come and go. But when guests hang around too long, they become pests. What say we try something new, and work to run these status quo political pests off. Let's get some fresh air into Little Dixie, before we all end up plaster Gnomes like Ol' Roadie.
